I don’t know why I made this
The model is those advertising signs you see people shaking on street corners all over the country. It was early in 2025 and I guess I just felt like I needed some positivity. Plywood with acrylic paint & metal handles. It’s available if you want to buy it.
Tech & design & trade skills
I love a project that utilizes all of my skills. This one was conceptual, technical, physical, artistic, all the goodness. I used my typographic background to set the type to the shape in Adobe Illustrator, my projector set up for the tracing, woodworking skills to build the sign, painting & design for the lettering.
Materials on hand
One of the hallmarks of my working style is to use materials on hand. This can bring project costs down and often result in some fortuitous outcomes. For this one I used paint I had on hand from a previous project that seemed just the right palette for this silly little project.
